Eureka! Over the past week, members of the community from all over Denton came together to repeat history and rebuild a beloved playground. Just as in 1995 for the original Eureka playground, hundreds of volunteers arrived in the dreary November weather to give their time and effort to the community. The Eureka 2 playground project is supported by the Denton Parks Foundation, of which The Crouch Group’s Tim Crouch is currently President. The community build week proved to be very successful, and the playground is on track to be ready to open in January, with a formal grand opening later in the year. Many organizations sent groups of volunteers to the work site, including Boy Scout troops, UNT student organizations, and local Denton businesses. Even our own employees took the opportunity to volunteer for the last day of the build, taking plenty of pictures. Thanks to every one who poured themselves into this project over the past week, and to the Denton Parks Foundation for making it all possible.
The Denton Parks Foundation, led by executive director Molly Tampke, has raised over $450,000 for the Eureka 2 project. However, more donations are still needed to reach the $500,000 goal. If you would like to donate to Eureka 2, corporate donations can be made by contacting Molly Tampke at 940-218-0270 or you can still purchase a picket to be placed at the new playground for $50 by visiting the Eureka 2 website here. There are still final finishing touches to be added to the playground before it re-opens for business. A date for the formal opening is pending.
The Crouch Group is pleased to be a part of a Denton Community that is committed to the quality of life in Denton. Eureka 2 is a part of what makes Denton special, from donations of money to time. The people of Denton are always ready to step up when called upon to make this an even better place to live, work, learn and play!
