North Texas Fair and Rodeo Earns Highest Award in Marketing Competition
The Crouch Group has been the agency of record for the North Texas Fair and Rodeo for over ten years, designing theme graphics, creating printed material, producing videos and television commercials and radio campaigns for each of the Fair’s annual regional events. All of these categories are submitted for marketing competition each January at the Texas Association of Fairs and Events.
The Texas Association of Fairs and Events (TAF&E) recently awarded its highest honor, Best Overall Marketing Campaign, to the North Texas State Fair and Rodeo. Along with the Best Overall award the fair received seven first-place awards, four second place and one third-place award in the Texas Association of Fairs and Events Shows Awards of Excellence in Marketing and Communication. TAF&E announced winners during marketing awards ceremonies at the Association’s annual conference and trade show in San Antonio. The NT Fair and Rodeo received the awards for its August 2015 annual event in Denton. The NTFR has won Best Overall in 5 of the last 8 years, and placed second in 3 of the last 8 years.
Along with the Best Overall award, the marketing campaign for the North Texas State Fair received first place awards for best new promotion, best color newspaper ad, best radio spot, best TV commercial, best specialty video, best brochure and best website. The Fair won second place in the categories of promotional poster, single page material (child’s ticket), tabloid and misc. advertising. The third place honor was given for best outdoor advertising. The North Texas State Fair Association competed with events having from 100,001 to 500,000 attendees, which includes Rodeo Austin and Heart ‘O Texas Fair and Rodeo.
The TAF&E Marketing Awards program recognizes excellence in marketing campaigns that promote fairs and events. The Texas Association of Fairs and Events is an organization made up of over 100 fairs and festivals and approximately 200 associate members who supply goods and services.
Glenn Carlton, Executive Director of the North Texas Fair and Rodeo, expressed his gratitude for the recognition awards. “We are very proud and honored to have received this award for the 5th time in 8 years. We were competing against some very well respected events and larger events, including Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo,” said Carlton. “ We could not have achieved this recognition without the hard work of NTSFR Executive Assistant Nanci Kimmey, staff member Barbara Hall, Crouch Group’s graphics designer Stephanie Taylor and Crouch Group video producer Justin Tennison, who created the finest video and television commercial in our history. I also want to thank all of our volunteers, sponsors and attendees that continue to make this event possible year after year.”
